Record heat will be the norm by 2035

The heat that has covered Europe this year is a consequence of global warming. And even if all the countries in the bloc achieve their environmental targets, the temperatures will still continue rising.

This year’s «heat wave», will become Europe’s new normal by 2035. Europe is currently suffering from what is believed to be the worst drought in 500 years. But this rising norm will cause more droughts and fires across the continent. And by the end of the century, the average summer temperature will be 4 degrees Celcius higher than in the pre-industrial era.

This, of course, does not correlate with the Paris Agreements. Indeed, the countries that signed them promised to strive for the maximum temperature rise of 1.5 degrees.

In addition to resolving current difficulties, governments also maintain long-term plans. A program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by the end of the decade is still in place.

Whether it will have an impact or whether more drastic measures are needed, only time will tell.
