Women are half as likely to be employed as men

The International Labor Organization has calculated the results for the year 2022. The report shows that the economic situation in the world is going to lead to even greater inequality in the labor market. Moreover, increasing numbers of workers are willing to accept lower-skilled and low-paid jobs.

The global unemployment rate is expected to rise by 3 million people to 208 million, which is 5.8% of the total population. It is also worth noting that employment rates for men and women are different.

Thus, in 2022 only 47% of women were involved in the labor market. At the same time, the rate for men exceeds 72%. Put simply, this means that for every unemployed man, there are two unemployed women.
