The European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) 2025 competition, organised by the European Commission, has officially opened the call for entries in Luxembourg. The programme is designed to encourage and promote best practices in business support and entrepreneurial culture at national and European level.

EEPA aims to recognise successful initiatives that contribute to the growth of SMEs and to inspire others to launch similar projects. The competition is organised as part of European SME Week and the annual SME Assembly.

The six EEPA nominations cover key areas of development:

  • Creating a favourable business environment - initiatives that reduce administrative barriers, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Investments in entrepreneurial skills - projects for training and development of managerial and entrepreneurial competences.
  • Supporting the digital transition - programmes that promote the digitalisation of SMEs.
  • Promoting internationalisation of business - measures for companies to enter international markets.
  • Sustainable development - initiatives that support green economy, energy efficiency, biodiversity and circular economy.
  • Responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship - supporting social entrepreneurship and projects targeting vulnerable groups: the unemployed, migrants, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities.

Public authorities (national, regional, local), public-private partnerships, training programmes and trade organisations are eligible to participate. Private companies and individuals can only participate in the Responsible and Inclusive Entrepreneurship category if they fulfil the SME status.

The winners of the national stage will be nominated for the European final, where an international jury will award top honours and the Grand Prix for the most inspiring initiative of the year.

Entries will be accepted until 4 June 2025 and the results of the competition will be announced at an awards ceremony in November 2025 at SME Assembly.
