Out of 420 applications submitted, 20 startups were selected to participate, of which 15 successfully completed the six-month course. They represented three sectors: digital technology, healthcare and space technology. All companies registered in Luxembourg received €50,000 each, and with further development - investment and the creation of at least two jobs - can count on a further €100,000 of state support.
Luxinnovation CEO Mario Grotz emphasised: the startups that completed the programme embody technological excellence, sectoral diversity and entrepreneurial potential. Among them are companies working with AI, digital health, cybersecurity and green technologies.
Since its inception in 2015, Fit 4 Start has already welcomed around 200 startups from 35 countries, with a total of more than 3,000 applications for the programme over 10 years. This makes Fit 4 Start one of the key elements of Luxembourg's startup ecosystem and a notable benchmark on the European scene. As Mickael Borger, startup expert at Luxinnovation, stressed, the programme provides clear performance criteria, access to industry experts, visibility in the market and a connection to investors.
Economy Minister Lex Delles noted the strategic importance of the programme in attracting global technology players and developing local entrepreneurs. Fit 4 Start, he said, is closely linked to the national 10-point plan to support innovation, announced in March 2025, and contributes to shaping Luxembourg as a European centre of excellence.
The big news was the revival of the Fit 4 Start Alumni Club, a platform for former members of the programme aimed at creating synergies, supporting international expansion and increasing Luxembourg's visibility on the global technology map. As Senior Advisor Martin Guérin noted, the club creates "ecosystem after ecosystem" - the basis for long-term impact and sustainable growth.
At the end of the evening, the call for applications for the 16th season of Fit 4 Start was opened, applications can be submitted until 11 August 2025. The plan is to select 20 startups in the same areas: digital technology, medtech and space. The selection results will be announced in October at Luxembourg Ventures Days, where the finalists will present their projects at pitch sessions.
