Luxembourg is once again preparing a participant for Eurovision: the RTL team has officially confirmed the country's participation in the 2026 song contest. This was announced on Tuesday morning in a press release. The occasion was the triumph of singer JJ, who represented Austria and won with the heartfelt song Wasted Love. Austria's victory means that it will be the host of the next competition, and interest has already been expressed in Vienna, Innsbruck, Oberwart and Wels. The winning city will be announced on 8 August.
According to RTL, after the successful performances of Tali and Laura Thorn last season, the search for Luxembourg's next representative begins very soon. The national selection will again take place in the format of the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC), organised and broadcast by RTL. As the year before, the venue for the show will be the Rockhal concert hall, the largest stage in the country. It is expected that participation in the LSC will open the way for new talents wishing to represent Luxembourg on the European stage.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 was a record-breaking event with 166 million viewers, underlining the contest's continued relevance. Luxembourg, which has returned to Eurovision after a long absence, shows serious intentions to establish itself among the leading music nations in Europe. Details about the LSC and entry rules will be announced in the coming weeks.
