The popular urban culture festival Messtival is celebrating its first major anniversary this year. On Saturday 9 May 2026, the municipality of Reckange-sur-Mess will, for the fifth time, serve as a venue for the exchange of artistic experiences, bringing together music, creativity and inclusivity. The festival will take place on the square in front of the municipal workshops at 53, rue Jean-Pierre Hilger.

The Messtival stage will, as usual, bring together leading acts from the Luxembourg and international music scenes. This year, the line-up has undergone some changes: due to health issues affecting one of its members, the band Versus You has been forced to cancel their performance. They will be replaced by TUYS — an indie-pop quartet known for their cinematic sound and powerful energy.

Other highlights of the evening include:

  • Maz Univerze is a prominent figure on the urban music scene, blending rap, metal and emo in his performances;
  • De Läb — icons of Luxembourgish hip-hop, known for their sharp social commentary and humour;
  • Mutiny On The Bounty is an instrumental post-rock band that has gained international recognition.

The line-up will be rounded off by sets from DJ Morfaz, pop acts Marcy and Blame Emeraude, and local rock artist The Rot.

Messtival positions itself as a space that is accessible to everyone. In addition to concerts, visitors can look forward to a wide range of stalls and workshops. Organisations taking part in the festival include Eilenger Konschtwierk, Europa Donna, the Jugendhaus Reckeng youth centre and the Tipptopp Artbus.

The programme includes creative workshops for children, the ‘Charity Challenge’, a Fly Py karaoke party, and even a tattoo zone by Spikey Sun. Particular attention has been paid to inclusivity: the festival has been adapted to cater for families and people with special needs. For the convenience of visitors, a free shuttle bus will run throughout the day across the community, providing easy access to the event venue. Entry to all festival venues remains free.
