On 28 July 2025, the Minister of Education, Childhood and Youth, Claude Meisch, presented the Activity Box, a kit for families with children from 1 to 3 years old, developed by Eltereforum as part of the Screen-Life-Balance campaign. The main goal is to offer parents concrete and playful alternatives to screen-based leisure activities and to support the healthy development of babies, which scientific research shows is impossible without live dialogue, movement and sensory interactions.

The Activity Box isn't just a box of toys - it's a tool for building conscious family time. Inside:

  • An illustrated book about the adventures of two characters - Will the monkey and Misha the fox,
  • two play towels in the shape of these characters,
  • a cube with movement exercises,
  • a sketchbook with pencils,
  • a wooden caterpillar for sensorimotor games,
  • universal play shawl.

Additionally, the box includes a letter to parents with tips on creating "screen balance" and materials explaining all the activities.

The Minister emphasised: "If we want to support child development from the first years of life, we have to give parents not only information but also inspiration. Activity Box is a space without a smartphone, but with real attention".

Activity Box is designed with flexibility in mind: you can take it on the road, to grandma's house, to a restaurant, to a doctor's appointment. The lid and bottom are designed as a Wimmelbild - a richly detailed picture where you can search for characters and small objects to train your attention and concentration.

The kit is available free of charge to all families with children between 1 and 3 years old. It can be ordered at www.eltereforum.lu. Eltereforen also offer practical workshops where parents get to know the contents of the kit and learn how to use it in everyday life.
