The National Flood Warning Service has issued a yellow alert for the Moselle region due to continuing rises in water levels. This level indicates a potential risk of flooding and calls for increased vigilance, especially in coastal areas.
According to forecasts, by Friday evening the water level at the Stadtbredimus hydrological station will exceed 530 cm — the yellow warning threshold. In Remich, the water level is expected to rise to 452 cm. The flood is expected to peak on Saturday evening, with the water level in Stadtbredimus reaching around 560 cm.
The authorities emphasise that the situation remains under observation, and if it continues to deteriorate, additional notifications or an increase in the alert level may be issued. Residents are advised to monitor official announcements and exercise caution near the coastline and low-lying areas.
