The Fondation Cancer reported a suspicious incident with one of its email systems. According to the organisation's representatives, cybersecurity specialists hired to analyse the situation identified a malicious intrusion into some of the email accounts.
The organisation stresses that all necessary measures were taken immediately and the intrusion was promptly stopped in cooperation with a dedicated cyber defence provider.
No signs of data leakage, copying or exfiltration were detected, which means that the Foundation's activities, including patient support, were not affected in any aspect. The work to support cancer patients continues as usual.
The Foundation also assured that the incident did not affect the financial side of its activities. All transactions are carried out through reliable and secure payment systems, and bank accounts are completely safe.
The organisation notes that it faces a situation that is increasingly affecting charities and healthcare institutions and underlines its determination to counter cyber threats by strengthening measures to protect information systems.
