The Grand Duchy has a wide variety of indoor and outdoor water centers. Swimming pools in Luxembourg are popular both with locals and tourists. Understandably so, as they are a great way to spend time alone or with family and friends, to stay fit, or to relax after a busy work week. Meaning, it is simply made for everyone and anyone.

Aquatic Centres in Luxembourg

Les Thermes de Strassen

If you are craving a good swimming session, a relaxing spot, or are looking for a leisure time activity for children, you don’t have to think twice before visiting Les Thermes in the heart of Strassen. The entire huge water complex is under the roof, so you don’t have to wait for perfect weather conditions. Aquatic Center

In, swimmers will find a 25-meter pool with a trampoline, and the relaxation fans can rest in the Jacuzzi, visit the sauna (there are 6 of them) or Turkish baths, and get a massage. For young swimmers, there is a children's pool. There are also learning, paddling, and an outdoor pool as well as a wave pool and 3 types of pool slides for those more adventurous.

The water temperature is kept at around 29°C, which is perfect for a refreshing swim.

If all the water activities and swimming increase your hunger whilst being in Les Thermes, you can restore your energy and find refreshments and snacks in the Snack Aquatic Centre.

Entrance fees start at 2.5 euros for children and 7 euros for adults. There is also an option to buy group tickets. The prices also depend on the duration of your stay. One can get a day ticket or for a specific amount of hours. The prices and conditions of the swimming pool can be found on the website of Les Thermes. Keep in mind that there will be an extra charge of 1 euro per ticket if you are planning to visit over the weekends.

Sauna, Wellness and SPA

Even if you were looking to do something other than swim, Les Thermes offers a lot of activities and options. For instance, you can find an answer for pain relief and improving your cardiovascular health and respiratory function at Les Thermes’ Sauna and wellness center.

The sauna has an entrance fee of 24.50 euros for adults and 18.50 euros for children/adolescents. Additionally, there is a special offer for ladies to have access to the sauna every Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for 19.50 euros, or 13.50 for children/adolescents.

The only thing you need to keep in mind is the dress code that all of the saunas have in common — you will need to wear a bathrobe. You can also rent one at the facility for a fee of only 6 euros (with a 50 euros deposit) or rent a towel for 4 euros (with a 15 euros deposit).

After relaxing in the SPA of your choice, you can enjoy a nice meal in the wellness lounge. You can check the menu and make sure you can find something fitting for your dietary wants and needs using Chef-MARS's suggestion.

If you are in need of some relaxation and pampering by trained and licensed beauty service professionals, Les Thermes has got you covered for that too. Their Beauty Stopover offers services like:

There is also an app and website, created by a Luxembourgish startup company, that aggregates the beauty procedures available in the Grand Duchy in one place. Children's activities

Les Thermes is not only children-friendly when it comes to offering everyday leisure time activities. The facility also offers an opportunity to celebrate a young one’s birthday in a unique and fun way.

There are 4 different options to choose from, including games in the aquatic center, kids' animation services, main course meals, and a cake of your choice.

How to access Les Thermes

You can get to Les Thermes fairly easily. The building of the facility alone is very interesting on its own, so once you spot eye-catching architecture in Strasseen, it means you are close.

By car

If you are traveling by car on Highway E25/A6, take Exit No. 5, N34 «Luxembourg-Centre Bertrange», turn right and continue straight. Then, at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit.

By bus

If you chose to take the bus, you should go for one of these two bus stops: Grand Duchess Charlotte / Barblé or Strassen / Les Thermes (buses 10, 16, 8, 801, 822, 824)

Les Thermes de Beaufort

Moenia

The Badanstalt Aquatic Relaxation Centre offers a swimming pool in Luxembourg and sauna activities. If you are in need of more than just a swim, you can also find a sauna and a fitness room, as well as a place to refresh after in their shower rooms and baths. Swimming tickets start at the rate of 3.40 euros for adults, but you can also buy a bundle of 10 tickets for 30 euros if you are planning to make more frequent visits to the center. Sauna and SPA center in Mondorf

It is great for people who want to enjoy wonderful and well-equipped SPA, wellness, and fitness facilities. There are group courses as well as programs for couples.

There are thermal pools, saunas, hammams, and Jacuzzis. To be more precise, there is:

  • one thermal water pool,
  • one freshwater pool,
  • one variable water pool,
  • three Jacuzzis,
  • 11 saunas,
  • three hammams,
  • one infrared cabin.

It does not seem to be children-friendly as there are no slides and pools dedicated to a young audience.

For those, who got hungry during their time in Mondorf-les-Bains, three restaurants and a bar in the SPA center are open and providing meals, snacks and drinks.

From Luxembourg

Get to the train station. Take the bus line №413 (this is a regular route) and go to the stop «Casino 2000». It takes about 30 minutes to get there — Bus stop: Casino 2000

From France

When coming from France on a personal car, use the A31 highway, direction Luxembourg A3. Then drive to Remich / Saarbrücken A13, and finally, you will reach exit №12 (Mondorf-les-Bains).

From Belgium

When coming with a personal car, use motorways A4 (direction Luxembourg) and A6 (direction Metz / Saarbrücken). Then follow the highway Remich / Saarbrücken — A13, and reach exit №12 (Mondorf-les-Bains).

All the swimming pools of this center are located indoors. Additionally, there is a sports and health pool, for those training more seriously.

This water center includes:

  • 25 meters Olympic pool,
  • 50 meters Olympic pool,
  • Initiation pool for swimmers,
  • Paddling pool for toddlers,
  • Diving pools.

The swimming/bathing cap is necessary on the territory of the Aquatic Center. You can either bring it with you or buy it at the reception.

Although it sounds like the pool is made for professional swimmers, d’Coque is actually children-friendly, as you can also find a paddling pool with games for children. But you are not allowed to leave your kids under the age of 10 without guidance and a parental figure.

The prices for accessing pools vary, as you can choose to get an annual plan for 1 year, 6 or 3 months, or you can settle for an individual ticket.

This is a large L-shaped pool, located in the heart of Luxembourg. The longer section of the pool is reserved for experienced swimmers. It is 2 meters deep and 25 meters long. The shorter section is the beginner's area. It has an adjustable depth of between 0.83 meters and 1.08 meters and is 15.5 meters long. The pool is 12.5 meters wide.

Sauna and Wellness

Pidal SPA provides visitors with its unique sauna facilities: the classic sauna, the oriental hammam, the Finnish saunas with wood fires in log cabins, and the cold water pool. A variety of cosmetic and beauty treatments for your face and body can be found here.

They also have an ice water fountain! Using contrast water after the visit to the sauna is very healthy — it stimulates blood circulation, strengthens the immune system and helps the skin. Though, it's not for everyone.

Outdoor pools

The outdoor facilities include 33 meters sports pool, a 21 meters leisure pool, a paddling pool, a big water slide, a lagoon, and 2000 m² of mineral beaches and green spaces.

This water center provides a great number of activities to take part in — suitable for the youngest visitors, as well as for people who just want to relax, or even work out sessions underwater.

The swimming pool also offers swimming courses for those who want to learn how to swim, as well as fitness classes and classes for the elderly. The enrollment form and other details are available on the website.

You can find more information on courses available in 2022-2023 season using this form, as well as use it to enroll for lessons. Mark the classes of your interest and submit the form to the swimming pool.

The pool is open during the school holidays: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. While school is on, the opening time is different every day, starting around 12 p.m. and until 10 p.m. with some pauses.

For adults, the price for a single ticket is 7 euros. Children under the age of 18 and students swim for 4 euros. You can also buy a bundle of 10 tickets for 45 euros for adults. The same bundle will cost 23 euros for students and underaged swimmers. Moreover, you can get monthly and seasonal subscriptions as well: prices range from 30 to 100 euros. Since it is an only outdoor pool, it is not open for the whole year but opens from May to September from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from 1st June to 31st July from 10 a.m. to 8 pm.
