Swimming pools of Luxembourg: places to relax and swim

The Grand Duchy has a wide variety of indoor and outdoor water centers. Swimming pools in Luxembourg are popular both with locals and tourists. Understandably so, as they are a great way to spend time alone or with family and friends, to stay fit, or to relax after a busy work week. Meaning, it is simply made for everyone and anyone.

Aquatic Centres in Luxembourg

Les Thermes de Strassen

Address: Rue des Thermes, L-8018 Strassen. Phone: (+352) 27 03 00 27.

If you are craving a good swimming session, a relaxing spot, or are looking for a leisure time activity for children, you don’t have to think twice before visiting Les Thermes in the heart of Strassen. The entire huge water complex is under the roof, so you don’t have to wait for perfect weather conditions. Another thing you don’t need to worry about is the reservations for the center, as it requires none.

Aquatic Center

In Les Thermes, swimmers will find a 25-meter pool with a trampoline, and the relaxation fans can rest in the Jacuzzi, visit the sauna (there are 6 of them) or Turkish baths, and get a massage. For young swimmers, there is a children's pool. There are also learning, paddling, and an outdoor pool as well as a wave pool and 3 types of pool slides for those more adventurous.

The water temperature is kept at around 29°C, which is perfect for a refreshing swim.

If all the water activities and swimming increase your hunger whilst being in Les Thermes, you can restore your energy and find refreshments and snacks in the Snack Aquatic Centre.

The pool is open every day. On weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Entrance fees start at 2.5 euros for children and 7 euros for adults. There is also an option to buy group tickets. The prices also depend on the duration of your stay. One can get a day ticket or for a specific amount of hours. The prices and conditions of the swimming pool can be found on the website of Les Thermes. Keep in mind that there will be an extra charge of 1 euro per ticket if you are planning to visit over the weekends.

A special brochure can tell you more about the Aquatic center and all the pecularities of its work — download the document using the link below.

Sauna and Wellness

Even if you were looking to do something other than swim, Les Thermes offers a lot of activities and options. For instance, you can find an answer for pain relief and improving your cardiovascular health and respiratory function at Les Thermes’ Sauna and wellness center. And your choice doesn’t end just by choosing to opt for a sauna: you can choose from a variety of options, according to the right temperature, humidity, surroundings, and treatment that will be best for you.

The only thing you need to keep in mind is the dress code that all of the saunas have in common — you will need to wear a bathrobe. You can also rent one at the facility for a fee of only 6 euros (with a 50 euros deposit) or rent a towel for 4 euros (with a 15 euros deposit).

After relaxing in the SPA of your choice, you can enjoy a nice meal in the wellness lounge. You can check the menu and make sure you can find something fitting for your dietary wants and needs using Chef-MARS's suggestion.

The sauna has an entrance fee of 24.50 euros for adults and 18.50 euros for children/adolescents. Additionally, there is a special offer for ladies to have access to the sauna every Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for 19.50 euros, or 13.50 for children/adolescents.

There are 4 different options to choose from, including games in the aquatic center, kids' animation services, main course meals, and a cake of your choice.

How to access Les Thermes

You can get to Les Thermes fairly easily. The building of the facility alone is very interesting on its own, so once you spot eye-catching architecture in Strasseen, it means you are close.

  1. By car

If you are traveling by car on Highway E25/A6, take Exit No. 5, N34 «Luxembourg-Centre Bertrange», turn right and continue straight. Then, at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit.

If while reading all that Les Thermes offers you have spotted something you know would make a lovely gift for your loved ones, you can also purchase various Gift vouchers and surprise someone with a nice relaxation gift!

Les Thermes de Beaufort

The center is not very child-friendly, moreover, children under 6 years old are not allowed to come to the SPA.
