Luxair Airlines, together with the OGBL and LCGB unions, has concluded a new collective agreement that will be in force until 31 December 2027. The document reflects the interests of employees and the company's economic challenges, and covers 3,000 employees.
Significant changes will affect salaries and bonuses. Wage scales for pilots, flight attendants and ground staff will be updated, with pilots now having only two categories - commander and co-pilot. For the rest of the staff, a system has been introduced to guarantee annual salary increases, while senior flight attendants will receive increased bonuses.
One of the key themes of the agreement was compensation for losses suffered by employees during the pandemic. Salary increases were frozen between 2021 and 2023, but Luxair will now recalculate and incorporate the missed increases into salaries from 1 January 2025. The airline will also pay one-off compensation for the crisis period from 1 October 2025.
Additional attention has been paid to the work-life balance of employees. The number of days off for flight attendants will be increased, and overworked hours can be compensated with full days off. Employees aged 55 and over will get an extra day of holiday and part of their 13th salary can now be converted into paid days off.
Luxair has also pledged to hire additional staff - both flight and administrative - to improve flight planning. The company will soon invest in a schedule management system to optimise workloads and improve working conditions.
