Following a meeting on 10 December 2024, representatives of the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works (MMTP) and the OGBL union reconvened to discuss the future of the TICE inter-municipal bus operator serving the south of the country.
The main outcomes of the negotiations:
- Social guarantees for employees remain unchanged. All labour rights and working conditions are preserved and protected by law, and any rumours of possible changes are considered unfounded.
- Privatisation of TICE has been ruled out - the operator will remain in public ownership.
- The state will strengthen financial support to ensure sustainable development of the transport network.
The parties agreed to meet regularly every two months to respond promptly to public transport challenges in the southern region of Luxembourg.
The move confirms the authorities' commitment to strengthening public transport, ensuring its financial stability and the social security of workers.
