A conference dedicated to the schoolchildren»s socio-emotional skills was held
The National Youth Service of Luxembourg held the 11th annual conference on non-formal education for children this Thursday, November 17. The conference brought together more than 300 experts in the field of non-formal education. The event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. This year the conference was dedicated to the socio-emotional skills of children.
The Minister of Education, Claude Meisch, who was present at the opening of the conference, noted why it is important: “Those children who know their emotions from childhood and are able to manage them are the truly strong ones. Since childhood, they live by the principles of respect, tolerance, solidarity – and they know how to establish new links.”
The participants talked about how to teach children socio-emotional skills, how to use these skills in the field of education. They also discussed working with children’s emotions, developing cooperation skills and empathy in children. Visitors were given educational brochures and didactic materials.
