Luxembourg has a strong base for corruption prevention

The Group of States against Corruption (Greco) accepted the second Luxembourg Compliance Report on this type of crime at the 5th assessment stage. The report turned out to be convincing: out of 21 recommendations, the Grand Duchy fully complied with 18, partially followed 2 and did not comply with just 1 prescription.

This evaluation period concerned the effectiveness of combating corruption in the police force and higher governmental bodies. Greco also noted that this time Luxembourg has a better result than in previous assessment stages. This means that the Grand Duchy has overcome the shortcomings of past years, fine-tuned its legal system to be extremely effective — and has thus become the first of the 50 Greco countries to pass the 5th stage of the assessment.
