Tenants who can't pay rent won't be evicted until spring

The tenants in Luxembourg are now supported by the government. Its representatives took into account the inflationary pressure on the inhabitants of the Grand Duchy. And also the simple fact that no family or person wants to be on a snowy street after a sudden eviction. Finding a new home in winter in Luxembourg is difficult.

Tenants unable to pay rent this winter will not be evicted until March 1, 2023. In a similar way, the government has already protected the country’s population during the recent pandemic.

It has not yet been specified how the landlords will be compensated for their losses.

The new measure will help many people — at least 1,000 tenants are evicted from their homes every year in Luxembourg for missing the rent payments.
