The government is to trial LU-Alert

The Luxembourg Government will carry out its regular monthly siren test. On Monday, 7 September, from 11.00, residents and visitors to the Esch-Belval area will receive SMS alerts. These alerts are geolocation-based and should not be received by residents of other areas.
During the exercise, the Grand Ducal Police will send a test message to all mobile devices connected to the masts of Luxembourg’s mobile network operators within the area covered by the trial. At the same time, the notification will be published on the LU-Alert mobile app, on the service’s official website, and on the police’s Facebook page.
Officials emphasise that the activities taking place are purely a technical test, so members of the public in the test area do not need to take any protective measures.
