Last Friday, law enforcement officers carried out a targeted operation to inspect non-residential and derelict properties in Luxembourg. The main aim of this raid was to ensure compliance with immigration legislation, as well as to maintain a visible police presence in the city to prevent crime.
According to the official police report, a large-scale operation targeted 13 so-called squats located in the capital’s districts of Hollerich, Gasperich, Limpertsberg, Kirchberg and Ville Haute. During the operation, police officers found five people on the premises of these buildings, who were subsequently questioned. Twelve police officers took part in the operation.
