«Bridge the digital gap»: Prime Minister Xavier Bettel on the technological equality

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel expressed his support for the Digital Decade program at the «Transport, Telecommunications and Energy» Council. This ambitious project affects not only Luxembourg but also all of Europe.

It aims to make Gigabit Internet available to all citizens of the European Union, regardless of where they live or their financial status.

Realization is complicated by the challenges of upgrading and laying new communications infrastructure in rural areas. However, there is a solution to this problem. Through the concept of technology neutrality and the use of different connectivity methods, the goals can be achieved within a predictable timeframe.
