The traditional Mantelsonndeg sale will take place tomorrow, October 23

Mantelsonndeg (translated as Sunday of coats) will begin at stores and shopping centers across the country tomorrow. This day is always one of the most successful holidays of the year for the Luxembourg textile industry. It is traditionally held on the last Sunday before All Saints’ Day.

Coat discounts are popular with shoppers. Many people stock up on warm clothes before the start of winter. And stores can sell outdated inventory this way: after all new clothes are brought in them six times a season.

According to the organizers, Mantelsonndeg is gaining popularity again after the covid pandemic. Younger people buy clothes less often, but older generations have regained a taste for shopping after coming out of a long quarantine. Sales will definitely not be lower than the level of the pre-pandemic 2019.

This is not the only upcoming day of discounts. On November 25, Black Friday will begin in Luxembourg. Also, discounts await buyers on November 27, December 4, 11 and 18. As for the next year, Luxembourg has already announced the dates of seasonal sales in 2023.
