This year, two national holidays will fall on the same date: Europe Day and the Ascension will happen on May 9. How to deal with this circumstance and how many days off will Luxembourg citizens have?

The Minister of Labor Georges Engel has found a smart way out of this situation. The Labor Law states that "if a public holiday falls on a weekend, any employee in Luxembourg is entitled to a paid day off.

"Obviously, the same principle should also apply in the case of two public holidays falling on the same calendar day," said the politician.
