Two new tram stops in Luxembourg

On September 11, two new tram stops, Leshte Steiwer and Lycée Bonnevoie, opened in Luxembourg. Now you can go from Luxembourg Central Station to the Lycée Bonnevoie in less than 5 minutes. This is not the end of the road: in a couple of years, the tram will connect the center of the capital with the airporty.

The new 1.2 kilometer long section of track runs along the Büchler Bridge and along the recently opened Boulevard de Kyiv.

Luxembourg plans to further expand the tram route. By the end of 2023, three new tram stops should open.

  • Cloche d’Or Shopping Center,
  • Lycee Vauban,
  • Luxembourg Stadium.

And in 2024, the first tram line will be extended to Luxembourg Airport. To create this key tram stop, it’s necessary to lay about 5 kilometers of new tracks.

This completes the expansion of the first tram line. After the Grand Duchy will engage in the creation of high-speed routes between the capital, Esch-sur-Alzette and Belgian Arlon.
