Will the pool in Vianden open again? State is looking for a good business model
The swimming pool in Vianden was closed back in 2019 after a tragic incident. Since then, the territory has remained cordoned off, but the municipality does not leave attempts to revive the sports area.
According to preliminary estimates, the reconstruction and expansion of the territory will require about 15.55 million euros. The amount is definitely too high for the commune. And the state seems to want to help, but it demands to provide a clearer and more understandable business model, forecasts of profit and demand among the population.
According to preliminary calculations, up to 600 people a day will visit the pool with slides, springboards, an aqua zone for children and a training ground during the season.
At the same time, the municipality wants guarantees of state participation. After all, preparing the necessary documentation is expensive. The question arises whether this additional spending is needed when there is a risk that the project will not be approved.
