Xavier Bettel plans a new three-party meeting

Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will meet with the employers and labor unions in the next few weeks at a new trilateral meeting.

The discussion is likely to focus on new measures of support and instruments to limit inflation. The next indexation of wages will be one of the most awaited topics. The first indexation already took place on February 1, the second is scheduled for April, and the third is expected in the 4th quarter of this year.

According to the STATEC forecast, the third indexation is unlikely to be avoided because inflation, although remaining under control, does not plan to decrease. The statistical agency predicts that the rate will remain at 3.4% this year and rise up to 4.8% next year.
