On 3 June 2025, Luxembourg will once again celebrate World Bike Day and the railway company CFL is inviting everyone to a celebration where the bicycle will not just be a means of transport, but an occasion for meeting, socialising and new ideas. After a successful first version in 2024, the organisers are returning with an even richer programme.
The festivities will take place at two key locations:
- from 11:00 to 17:30 in the square at the Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg interchange;
- from 17:00 to 22:00 at Belval Université station.
The programme is designed for guests of all ages and levels of experience: you will be treated to bike rides, repair workshops, animations for children and information about the country's cycling infrastructure.
The organisers pay special attention to safe bicycle storage. There is already a network of 80 bikeboxes in the country - secure bicycle parking facilities that can be accessed free of charge. In addition, participants in the event will be invited to test a new mobile platform that will simplify access to these locations.
You can contribute: leave your suggestions for improving the app right on the spot at the Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg location.
Like a good street festival, the festival will not do without gastronomy. You will be waited for:
- treats from the food trucks;
- coffee from coffeebike, a mobile bicycle-powered coffee shop;
- And, the cherry on the cake: free ice cream for all guests.
The organisers recommend getting to the events by public transport. Check the current timetable on the CFL website before travelling - it is not only convenient, but also in the spirit of the environmentally friendly approach that the whole initiative supports.
