In response to a parliamentary enquiry by MP Mars Di Bartolomeo, Luxembourg's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Martine Deprez, announced that the Compensation Fund (FDC) has invested 164.3 million euros in Tesla shares at the end of 2024. The investment is split between two strategies: index and active.
Index and active strategies
- 70% of the total amount (approximately €114.3 million) was invested within three index funds focused on the MSCI World Index. In this index, Tesla ranked 6th with a 1.66% share at the end of 2024.
- 30% (€50 million) was placed through active investment strategies focused on the same asset category.
In February 2024, FDC updated the list of exclusions for its investments. Companies that violate international human rights, environmental, labour or anti-corruption standards are excluded from the portfolio. Tesla is currently monitored by provider Sustainalytics, with a neutral improvement outlook. This allows the company to remain part of the fund's investment portfolio.
Unlike a number of European pension funds, which have started to exclude Tesla from their portfolios due to possible violations of sustainability standards, the FDC is not yet planning similar steps. This decision is explained by the ongoing assessment of the company's compliance with international norms.
