On 17 December 2024, the official signing of the partnership renewal agreement between ILNAS (National Institute for Standardisation, Accreditation and Security) and the University of Luxembourg took place. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Economy in the presence of Lex Delles, Minister of Economy, and Stéphanie Obertin, Minister of Higher Education.

The joint programme for 2024-2030, entitled "Technical Standardisation for trustworthy and sustainable ICT, Construction and Aerospace", will follow up on the successful initiatives of 2017-2024. The research will be based at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of the University of Luxembourg.

The project will involve three doctoral students and one post-doctoral student to develop cutting-edge solutions in sustainability and digital trust for key sectors: information and communication technology (ICT), construction and aerospace.

The programme retains a strong link to learning activities:

  • The MTECH Master's programme, run jointly by the University and ILNAS, will be adapted based on scientific findings.
  • Research will be integrated into the development of new standards and solutions applicable in practice.

SnT director Professor Yves Le Tron said the programme would create bridges between scientific research and future regulations, ensuring that scientists' developments have a direct impact on society and the economy.
