Thursday morning in northern France and Luxembourg could be a real challenge for motorists. The prefecture of the Moselle department has issued a warning of icy roads, especially in areas bordering Luxembourg, due to mixed precipitation in the form of rain and snow.

The most difficult situation is expected on the A31 motorway, which plays a key role for cross-border traffic. The problems are exacerbated by the SNCF strike, forcing many to switch to private transport.

On the other side of the border, MeteoLux has not issued official warnings yet, but the forecast mentions the possibility of ice in places with temperatures around zero. The morning promises to be cloudy, with possible fog formation. In the afternoon, the region expects rain to persist throughout the day.

Drivers are advised to be particularly careful, especially during rush hour. Low visibility, slippery roads and increased number of vehicles can lead to traffic jams and accidents.
