The sixth Vëlosummer summer cycling tour programme starts on 19 July and runs until 24 August. As in previous years, this is a large-scale campaign organised nationwide to promote eco-friendly recreation, discover little-known parts of the country and strengthen ties between regions.

A special feature of 2025 will be that work will be carried out on the Luxembourg - Ettelbruck - Troisvierges - Gouvy railway line at the same time as the event, from 19 July to 11 August. However, the organisers have provided alternatives in advance so as not to limit the mobility of participants.

The Mamerdall Tour (19-20 July) and Mëllerdall Tour (2-3 August) will be served by free CFL and RGTR shuttles. Seats are limited, so it is strongly recommended that you book your trips in advance.

The VëloViaNorden will take place from 15 to 17 August and the Uewersauer Tour will take place on 23-24 August. For these tours, CFL has increased the frequency of trains on the Luxembourg - Gouvy line: two trains per hour on weekends and public holidays. This creates a convenient opportunity to organise circular itineraries with departures and returns to one of the railway stations.

On the VëloViaNorden routes, bicycles can be rented in Troisvierges and Wilwerwiltz, for example. The condition is to return them at the same point. Hire is available through the Clervaux and Troisvierges tourist centres. Reservations are required.

For the Uewersauer Tour, bikes can be rented directly at the departure station in Goebelsmühle. Rental options are provided by the Parc Naturel de la Haute-Sûre and the RentaBike services in Diekirch and Wiltz.

Due to the expected high congestion on weekend trains, the organisers advise to consider alternative time windows for cycling in advance. It is important to follow the rules: in trains, clear the aisles and do not block the doors. It is forbidden to ride a bicycle on stations and platforms - the transport must be carried in hand.

A full list of routes, train timetables, hire points and booking forms are available on the official website: www.velosummer.lu.
