Luxembourg weekend of April 14-16: farmer's market, blues and sightseeing running

The middle of spring will bring a warm weekend to residents and visitors. A great opportunity to get out of the house! You can stretch your legs on an unusual run with the Luxembourg Running Club or go to a farmer's market, or maybe spend the evening melancholically listening to the blues in a bar. But first things first. Open your calendars and plan your leisure time with our editorial digest.

Glacismaart

Every third Sunday since March, the farmers' market has been (almost) continually welcoming Luxembourgers for 17 years. You can find fruit and vegetables, flowers, garden plants, vintage clothing, unusual crockery, and all sorts of knick-knacks here.

Even if you're not a fan of organic local produce, this place is legendary in its own way. But if you are a fan, have you already checked out our guide article about organic goods in Luxembourg?

The market is open this Sunday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, don't forget to bring your reusable nets and cash.

Address: Champ du Glacis, LUXEMBOURG

Bruno Angelini Trio

An extraordinary musical collective, led by the talented pianist Bruno Angelini, offers an immersive journey into American storytelling. This musical performance is a panoramic journey through the American counterculture with a melodic and aural exploration of the hall space and cinematic melodies.

To see and redefine the experience of Transatlantic Roots you'll hear from trumpeter Fabrice Martinez, whose precision and output are boundless, especially when combined with Eric Eshampar's stunning drums. Tickets cost 6 euros.

Address: Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster, 28 rue Münster, L-2160 LUXEMBOU

Sight-running

A local running club with the funny name of FatBettyRun is a major instigator of marathons and weekly runs across the hilly surfaces of Luxembourg. There will be three runs on UNESCO heritage attractions this weekend — two on Friday (at 12:30 p.m. and 18:45 p.m.) and one on Saturday (at 10 a.m.).

The ideology of the club is to have enjoyment from running. Our athlete followers say the average running pace is usually 6 minutes per kilometer, so feel free to grab your sneakers and join in on the spring exercise fun. Especially since all of the club's runs are completely free.

Address: Place d'Armes, LUXEMBOURG

Markuz Walach

A perfectionist from the world of music, he is not trapped in one genre. Each performance is a mix of stories told through the guitar: there's both blues and funk, rock and roll, boogie and rhythm. Marcus Wallach wheels around Western Europe in his little blue van on his first mini-tour, creating a sound somewhere between delta blues and rock 'n' roll that makes you open both your eyes and your mouth. Percussive riffs with an incredible groove can be heard this Friday evening at Vantage. The ticket price is 8 euros.

Address: Vantage - House of Music, 163 rue de Beggen, L-1221 LUXEMBOURG
