The Hague explosion: what is known by this hour
A powerful explosion and fire completely destroyed a three-storey apartment block in The Hague. According to the authorities, three people were killed, four hospitalised and the number of missing persons is still unknown.
The explosion occurred in the early hours of the morning, accompanied by a heavy fire. According to Mayor Jan van Zanen, the building, which included shops on the ground floor and residential flats on the upper floors, was completely destroyed. Rescuers said there was little hope of finding survivors under the rubble.
