Come to the 6th Rendez-vous aux jardins Festival
Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture is participating for the sixth time in the pan-European project Rendez-vous aux jardins 2025, which will take place from 6 to 8 June. The year's theme, "Gardens of Stone - Stones in Gardens", emphasises the relationship between nature and architecture, exploring the traditions of terraced gardens, stone structures and their role in biodiversity conservation.
The festival will offer a rich programme including:
- Outdoor concerts.
- Guided tours and workshops on the traditional art of dry masonry, recognised as a UNESCO intangible heritage site.
- Creative sessions such as sketching.
- Self guided walks where visitors can learn about the local flora and fauna adapted to extreme conditions.
Special attention is paid to stone elements reflecting the richness of the geological layers of the region. Guests will be able to observe sculptures and architectural elements that emphasise the harmony of stone and greenery.
Last year, 50 gardens in Luxembourg took part in the festival, attracting 3,800 visitors. In 2025, the Ministry of Culture is actively supporting the project through:
- error
- Developing an advertising campaign and publishing materials in the media.
- Provision of grants under the "Aides aux projets culturels" programme for participants.
Everyone can submit their projects until 20 May 2025 on the festival website or via email jardins.luxembourg@mc.etat.lu. Participants will be able to use the official festival logo, which will increase their visibility and participation in the cultural life of the country.
"Rendez-vous aux jardins" is not only an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of gardens, but also a platform to promote cultural and natural heritage. The 2025 theme emphasises the importance of human interaction with nature, drawing attention to stone structures as an element of sustainable design and historical memory.
