Luxembourg’s main fair, the Schueberfouer, is now open to the public. Although the official opening ceremony is scheduled for 5.00 pm, the first visitors can already buy drinks, and the fairground rides, food stalls and shopping pavilions have been open since midday. This season, the fairground will host 214 stalls, and the organisers expect up to two million people to attend the event. Unlike other major public events, the authorities have confirmed that the previous security measures will remain in place, with no entry checks whatsoever.

The main highlights of the 2026 programme are four new attractions. The high-tech project ‘Dr Archibald – Master of Time’ is particularly eye-catching. This is a rollercoaster integrated with virtual reality technology, which allows a fully simulated digital environment to be generated for riders directly during the ride. Alongside this, the fairground’s attractions have been expanded to include the ‘Royal Loop’ and ‘Skater’ have been added to the fairground’s infrastructure. Furthermore, after a hiatus of more than ten years, the classic ‘Wilde Maus’ rollercoaster is returning to the site. The food and drink area has also expanded thanks to the new ‘Paella by KingKong’ outlet and three additional food pavilions.

To make the Schueberfouer’s entertainment facilities more accessible, special discount days have been organised. The first Family Day will take place on 26 August, offering reduced prices on rides. The second Family Day is scheduled for 2 September and will include special offers on food and drink at the food pavilions. The official fair programme also includes Mayor’s Day on 25 August, Queens’ Day on 27 August and Citizens’ Day on 3 September. A large-scale street sale will take place on 7 September, and the fair season will traditionally conclude on 9 September with final discounts across the entire Glacis square and a celebratory fireworks display at 10.00 pm.
