The Lycée Robert Schuman Luxembourg, built in 1926, is in need of major renovation. Initially, the work was to affect only the sanitary facilities and classrooms, but the renovation revealed more serious problems that made classes on the floors impossible.

From the end of February 2025, after the Carnival holidays, some of the students (4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st grades) as well as adult students and two preparatory groups (251 in total) will be transferred to the National Institute of Languages (INLL) in Limpertsberg.

Temporary space for 13 classes will be provided until the end of the 2024/2025 academic year. The proximity of INLL to the Lyceum will allow students to easily access sports and extracurricular classes, which will remain in the main building (its ground floor will continue to operate).

In addition, INLL students will be able to use the Restopolis cafeteria and the school canteen in a comfortable environment.

From September 2025, some pupils will be accommodated in temporary modular classrooms which will remain in use until the refurbishment is complete.

It is important to note that the opportunity to enrol new students for the 2025/2026 academic year remains and the Lyceum will not reduce the number of places for prospective students.

To make room at INLL, 50 adult language courses will be temporarily transferred to the École nationale de santé in Strassen, formerly known as the Lycée technique pour professions de santé.

The Robert Schumann Lyceum school community and INLL students have already received official notices of the upcoming changes.
