1200 parking spaces are no longer available for the drivers in the Glacis area. This is due to the upcoming fair. Carousels and pavilions for the Schueberfouer are now being erected at the Limpertsberg gate. And it’s happening right next to a large open car park. For the duration of the preparations and the fair itself, the parking lot was closed.
It will become partially available to drivers only on the evening of September 10th. It will fully open on September 13, when the fair equipment is fully dismantled.
The car park at the Schuman roundabout will also be closed during the the fair. That’s another 400 parking spaces inaccessible for drivers from August 19 to September 8.
Other complications await car owners as well. The traffic along the Avenue de la Faïencerie section between Avenue Scheffer and Boulevard de la Foire will be temporarily restricted from August 13 to September 10.
If you want to get to the fair, or just drive around the Glacis area, it is better to use public transport during August and early September. You can park your car at one of the P+R car parks nearby. They still have plenty of free parking spaces.
