Government changed terms for financing home soundproofing

Luxembourg's Environment Agency has updated the requirements and information for receiving aid to improve the soundproofing of homes in the airport area. According to the agency, the new aid program should allow more people to benefit from the subsidies and reduce the noise level caused by aircraft.

The main changes relate to the location of homes and their construction. For example, the program's coverage area has been expanded. Previously there were about 400 addresses, but now 2635 houses can apply for support. The list of all addresses is available on the official website.

The list also includes new details on what can be improved: French windows and elements replacing roller boxes. In addition, the budget for the improvement and replacement of individual details, such as windows, has been increased.

The government has also extended the program until 2032 and simplified the administrative side of the process. Now only one report is required to receive assistance. You can read more about the conditions and the process of receiving aid on the official page of the program.

The maximum amount of aid will now be 16,000 euros (previously - 12,500) for a private house and 8,000 euros (previously - 6,250) for an apartment. The amount for individual building elements has also been increased: 260 euros per m2 for windows (previously - 200), and 430 euros for ventilation (previously - 360). In total, Luxembourg's Ministry of the Environment, Climate, and Sustainable Development intends to invest 2,450,000 euros in the improvement of sound insulation.
