Luxembourg automatically recognizes higher education diplomas
The Grand Duchy was the driving force behind a brand new initiative. 6 countries, including the Benelux and Baltic states, signed an agreement allowing the automatic recognition of higher education diplomas. This means that it is no longer necessary to go through a long bureaucratic procedure.
From May 1, all graduates from Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will be able to present their documents and automatically receive all the necessary rights. The idea of this initiative appeared already in 2015, but initially the innovation affected only the Benelux countries. This year, the list has been completed.
On May 13, there will be a meeting of ministers in Brussels, where the details of how the new system will work are likely to be discussed and new details may be revealed to the public. Countries have already offered to join the agreement.
