State finances show 4 billion euro surplus
The data was published by the Central Bank of Luxembourg and STATEC. The first three quarters of 2022 were better for state finances than previously thought. The €4 billion surplus is almost €1 billion more than the result for the same period last year.
The positive trade balance amounted to 364 million euros. At the same time, both exports (+8%) and imports (+16%) grew. The balance of trade in services, one of Luxembourg's strong sides, has also grew 5%.
However, along with this, an outflow of investments is expected. If for the 3rd quarter of 2021 the net inflow was 443 billion euros, but this year there has been an outflow of 98 billion euros.
