The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps rescued a dog from the swamp
A Luxembourg resident's dog got off its leash and went on a spontaneous trip through a nearby forest during a sunny walk on Monday. Unfortunately, the walk was quickly at an end and the frightened animal landed on a small island in the middle of a swamp.
The dog could not get out of the trap on his own, and the owner was unable to go after the pet. A team from the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) came to the rescue.
The rescuers arrived on the scene and saved the dog from the deadly trap and returned it to its owner. The rescue even made it onto the department's official Facebook page.
This is not the first time firefighters and rescuers have come to the aid of animals. A year ago, a beagle puppy was pulled from the eaves of an apartment building.
