What is Sports for All?

Sports for All is a comprehensive sports program offered by the cities of Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette. This initiative provides a wide range of sports and fitness courses designed to cater to everyone, from young people and adults to seniors. The courses are led by specially trained sports instructors from the Department of Sports, as well as qualified swimming coaches and club trainers. Each October, a new season of the Sports for All program kicks off in Luxembourg City. For the 2024 season, the program features over 200 classes, including leisure sports, fitness sports, and health-oriented sports. This extensive variety ensures that there is something for everyone, making it easier to find an activity that fits your lifestyle and helps you stay active and healthy

How to participate in activities

The Sports for All Luxembourg program categorizes its offerings into three different groups, each tailored to a specific age range. This structure ensures that activities are age-appropriate and meet the needs of each participant.

Youth Activities
Designed for young people aged 12 to 16, this category includes over 25 different sports activities such as breakdancing, skateboarding, roller skating, strength training, multi-sport, futsal, Zumba, fitness dance, fitness gymnastics, stretching gymnastics, jogging, Aikido, volleyball, badminton, triathlon, table tennis, billiards, chess, archery, cycling school, and many more, including a cycling school for children aged 4 to 8, and a skating school for children aged 4 to 16 at the Kockelscheuer Ice Rink.
Adult Activities
The adult program includes both classic and unusual sports activities such as stretching, machine-based strength training, cross fitness, volleyball, badminton, Nordic walking, jogging, Taijiquan, aqua gym, cross-country skiing, and self-defense, among many others.
Activities for Seniors (55+)
This program includes the same activities as the adult program but is adapted to meet the needs and capabilities of individuals aged 55 and older.

Activities take place all week long, from Monday to Sunday, indoors, in pools, or outdoors, across more than 30 locations in the city.
