For a significant proportion of employees in Luxembourg, the working day ends not with relief but with psychological stress. According to a survey by the employment portal Moovijob.com, 40% of respondents admitted that they return home feeling stressed, while only 11% feel completely relaxed.

Stress levels vary significantly depending on the industry, position and level of responsibility. The higher the workload, the more often work tasks are "taken" outside the office. Not only the volume of work plays a negative role, but also the atmosphere in the team: a toxic environment, excessive demands from management, and constant rush make it difficult to switch gears psychologically. The experts surveyed emphasise that the ability to set internal boundaries and accept that not all issues require immediate resolution is becoming an important skill.

The study also highlights practical ways to reduce stress. For example, briefly planning the next day's tasks before leaving work helps to reduce obsessive thoughts in the evening. Some people prefer to take a walk after work as a symbolic transition to personal time. Even the journey home can be a period of 'reboot' if you use it for reading, listening to music or podcasts.

A change of scenery remains one of the most effective ways to distract yourself: sports, meeting with loved ones, going to the cinema, or simply spending time outside the home can help shift your focus. Many also advise turning off work notifications completely and not using work devices outside of scheduled hours.
