The Télévie charity initiative has concluded its 25th anniversary season in Luxembourg, raising an impressive total of €1,521,863 in 2026. As is customary, all funds will be allocated to funding scientific research into the fight against cancer. Since the project was launched in the Grand Duchy in 2002, the total amount of donations has exceeded €32 million.

This year’s marathon marked a historic milestone not only because of the anniversary, but also due to personnel changes in the project’s management. The programme marked the final appearance for Caroline Mart, the long-standing presenter who has been on screen since the very first episode. Diane Wunsch, who has served as coordinator for the past 11 years, has also announced her departure; she will officially retire later this year.

Although Télévie is associated with a major television broadcast, the bulk of the work is carried out by volunteers over many months of preparation. The success of the 2026 event confirms that the project’s primary objective remains unchanged: to bring together scientists, patients and their families in the search for new treatments.

Over the past 25 years, the initiative has evolved from a media event into a powerful movement of social solidarity. This year, in addition to major contributions from patrons, a significant portion of the funds was raised through the efforts of local communities and individual donations. Caroline Mart and Diana Wunsch, who are stepping down from their roles, emphasised that, despite a generational change within the organising team, Télévie’s mission remains the same: to provide science with resources and patients with time.
