On 25 October 2025, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Yuriko Backes, visited a construction site on the A3 motorway in the Bettembourg area. Together with the Mayor Laurent Zeimet and representatives of the Bridges and Roads Authority, she inspected the new pedestrian and bicycle crossing, which is an important part of the motorway widening project.

The bridge replaced the old metal structure. The uniqueness of the project lies in its precise logistics and technical execution: the old crossing was dismantled in the morning and a new structure weighing about 90 tonnes was installed in its place in the afternoon. This required two mobile truck cranes with a lifting capacity of 750 tonnes each.

The new crossing is a 60-metre span with a 3-metre width, providing a safe crossing for pedestrians and cyclists. Importantly, the project also includes access roads connecting the bridge to infrastructure on both sides.

The total construction budget is approximately €1,750,000 including taxes. Completion is scheduled for May 2026.
