Luxembourg airport set a new record
Luxembourg airport set a new record
Luxembourg's airport, Findel, passed the 5 million passenger milestone in 2024, leaving behind the pre-pandemic 2019 figures (4.4 million) and last year's 4.79 million. The milestone signalled a full recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.
- Passenger number 5,000,000: a historic event took place on Luxair flight LG536 in Bari, Italy.
- Role of the team: Luxairport CEO Alexandre Flassac said that this success could not have been achieved without the co-ordinated work of airport staff, airline partners and everyone involved in creating a comfortable journey for passengers.
What's next? With the opening of the new tram station in spring 2025, the airport is preparing for an even greater flow of passengers, confirming its growing role in the European transport network.
This record underscores Findel's importance as a centre of air connectivity linking Luxembourg to the world and symbolises its sustainable development against a backdrop of global challenges.
