Luxembourg events for 24-26 May

An outdoor movie theater opens in Luxembourg. Tickets can be purchased online (on the Ciné Sura website) or at the box office on the day of the screening (cash, Digicash and credit cards accepted). Doors open at 20:00, the movie starts at 21:45. There will be food and drink tents on site, restrooms are behind the restaurant. Dogs are welcome.

The 48 Hours Urban Agroculture Festival returns to Luxembourg for the second time. Initiated nine years ago by the French Association of Urban Agroculture Professionals (AFAUP), the festival is a key event for urban agroculture actors in Europe. It is held annually in 33 cities across Europe to showcase the work of urban gardeners and farmers and to raise public awareness about nature in the city, responsible agriculture and sustainable food. The public will be able to discover urban agriculture through a variety of activities such as workshops, guided tours, show debates, conferences, round tables and festive moments. In Luxembourg, residents will be able to learn how to build houses for insect pollinators, visit urban gardens, or take part in a Food Fresco educational workshop for a more sustainable approach to food, among other activities.

The city of Luxembourg will host a new version of a "neighborhood party". The capital will provide benches, tables, garbage cans and promotional materials to residents who want to organize their own neighborhood party. If necessary and possible, VdL may close certain sections of streets to create more space for these friendly gatherings. People who want to organize a party at other times (up to and including the weekend of July 12-14, 2024) can also receive promotional items.
