OGBL, the only union representing Chemgas Barging employees, has negotiated an extension of its collective agreement with the company's management. Chemgas Barging, a river transport company with about 200 employees, has agreed improved terms and conditions for its staff for 2025.

The agreement, valid from 1 January to 31 December 2025, includes:

  • Overall wage increase of 2.3% for all categories of employees.
  • A 50% increase in compensation for long flights, which is a significant step in improving working conditions.

The negotiations took place in a constructive and productive atmosphere, which allowed the agreement to be concluded within a reasonable timeframe. The trade union representatives and the company's management demonstrated a joint endeavour to improve conditions for employees while maintaining the stability of the business.

These changes not only provide better support for staff, but also emphasise the role of trade unions in achieving fair working conditions. For Luxembourg's river transport sector, which plays an important role in the economy, such steps strengthen the attractiveness of the profession and the overall standard of work.
