Where can you swim in Luxembourg and the Greater Region in 2023

Luxembourg, France, Belgium... Find the best place to swim and refresh yourself, from the lakes of Remerschen to the lake of Madine, from Cherapont to Haut-Sur.

Swimming spots surrounded by nature

Luxembourg

  • Lake Haut-Sur: outside the protected area, 5 km from the main dam; there is a large area for water sports such as swimming, boating, diving and windsurfing.
  • Lake Remerschen: a recreational area for swimming, fishing, surfing, canoeing, and other activities. It has beautiful beaches and shady grassy areas, a swimming pool and a playground for children.
  • Lake Weiswampach: besides swimming, you can practice various activities — windsurfing, water biking, and others.

Belgium

  • Lake Conchibois: fed by spring water, it has been awarded "the Blue Flag" since 2011. The water is always of excellent quality here.
  • Lake Cherapont in Gouvy: accessible to people with disabilities and always supervised by a lifeguard. Fishing, games, tennis, petanque, 300 km of forest paths, hunting park, camping, tavern, everything for outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Ourthe in Maboge: the village of Maboge, located on the river Ourthe, offers visitors a beach for swimming. It has grills, a children's playground, showers, and more other things for comfortable rest.

France

  • Lake Madine: there are several sandy beaches where you can swim, sunbathe or just refresh yourself.

Germany

  • Holiday Park Losheim am See: this artificial lake is located in the middle of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. The water here is very pleasant and of very good quality.
